Anthony David Gonzalez (born August 25, 1970) is an American former football tight end. Gonzalez played for the National Football League from 1997 to 2003. One of America's top tight ends ever, he has the NFL record for most receiving yards among any tight end. Gonzalez is also ranked third all-time in the number of receiving yards.
Tony Gonzalez serves as a FOX sports studio analyst on FOX Sports Studio. Since the start of the 2017 NFL season began, Gonzalez is a regular on FOX NFL KICKOFF, the FOX's one-hour NFL pregame show preceding FOX NFL Sunday. It airs every Sunday morning at 11:00 am ET throughout the NFL season.
Gonzalez's assertion that he would retire from the NFL after 2013 was not true. On March 15 2013, Gonzalez agreed to sign with the Falcons a 2-year contract for 14 million dollars. Randy Moss announced his retirement in 2012 as did Gonzalez (37 an age) was the an NFL's most prolific receiver.
